Per Martinsen has been composing and performing electronic music since the late eighties as part of the first wave of electronic musicians hailing from the northern Norwegian town of Tromsø. Although most prolific under his Mental Overdrive techno/IDM moniker, he has collaborated with a number of artists and composed music for films, theatre, contemporary dance performances and cross disciplinary works such as transmedia project “Earthbound –Surfing the Apocalypse” (2012). He is currently engaged with his project “The search for Resonance” as part of the national Artist Reseach Programme at The Arctic University of Norway.
